Your adult ticket covers the full circuit, Fort Lovrijenac across the bay - the Red Keep of King's Landing - and the Western Outer Walls, all on one open-date entry.
About this ticket
There is no walk in Europe quite like the Walls of Dubrovnik: an unbroken 1,940-metre ring of limestone rising up to 25 metres above the Old Town and dropping sheer to the Adriatic. Built mainly between the 13th and 17th centuries to defend the independent Republic of Ragusa, the circuit is studded with towers and fortresses and was inscribed by UNESCO in 1979 as the Old City of Dubrovnik. Your adult ticket covers the full circuit, Fort Lovrijenac and the Western Outer Walls on one open-date entry.
Walking the walls
The recommended route runs anti-clockwise, climbing first toward the Minčeta Tower - the highest point and the best rooftop view - then along the seaward walls past Fort Bokar and St John's Fortress high above the sea. Most visitors take about two hours with photo stops. The circuit has more than a thousand steps and almost no shade, so bring water, a hat and sunscreen, and start early to beat the heat and the cruise crowds.
Across a small bay west of the Pile Gate, Fort Lovrijenac stands on its own 37-metre rock - the fortress that played the Red Keep in Game of Thrones. It's included in your ticket and can be visited separately from the main circuit. Note that re-entry to the walls is not permitted: the ticket is valid for one continuous tour.
